Reporting directly to the President and Vice-President, the Appraisal Reviewer manages the appraisal lifecycle after it has been assigned. Communication is the most important part of our business; the appraisal coordinator will facilitate communication between our clients and our appraisers. The Appraisal Coordinator must be ethical, responsible and accountable in oversight of appraisers to ensure successful execution of Marketwise’s expectations for quality and appraiser performance that is required to provide a superior customer service experience to our clients.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Effectively managing the pipeline of appraisals Marketwise is responsible for including inspection issues, review, and delivery to the lender.
- Technical review: determine whether or not the appraisal meets Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice requirements and whether the opinions and conclusions in the report are reasonable. Technical reviews ordinarily do not challenge the original appraiser’s choice of comparables unless there is an obvious problem.
- Administrative review: focus primarily on the underwriting issues addressed in the appraisal. These reviews, usually performed by the loan officer, approach the appraisal from an underwriting point of view.
